Smile aluminum radiator / electric or mechanical fan?

hey guys, here is the scenario.. 1986 2wd c-30 crew cab dually 431,000 miles stone stock smog and all, my truck runs like a top and never lets me down.. i have the big copper brass 4 core radiator in it which has been gone through a few times, well once again it is leaking and the headers (where the tanks solder on) are worn out and i need to replace the radiator.. i talk to my radiator guy and he says "i'll give you a free direct fit aluminum radiator, just remember who to call when your shop needs radiator work". so im like yeah right.. well yesterday his guy shows up and drops off a real nice aluminum, all welded, non epoxy direct fit radiator as promised.. here is the question, should i switch to an electric fan set-up or stay stock mechanical? it would be nice to switch, and the windstar elec fan set-up looks like it would work well, but what do YOU guys use and why? this is my daily driver, but it also sees alot of use (and abuse) , lets hear it...would electric fans help my truck warm up better in the mornings??? thank you in advance for any suggestions, great board, you all rock!

Re: aluminum radiator / electric or mechanical fan?

If it were me, I'd stick with what has worked for the last 431k. I think DD and work vehicles should be kept stock or close to it, because your paycheck depends on it. Nice score on the free radiator too!
