Re: green blazer scam yet again

I flagged it also.

Same ad was just on Seattle Craigslist this afternoon; It's now gone.

I think most who know the value of these trucks can tell it's a scam, but you never know.

Apparently people are dumb enough... He's been doing it for a long time on both craigslist and ebay.

Re: green blazer scam yet again

I've talked to the guy. The scam is this......

At the time the truck was listed in Sacramento, and I was ready to drive up and see. (I never buy anything site unseen) He then went on to tell me that he had been deployed to another country and couldn't take the truck with him. Told me he had the truck ready to ship overseas and it was sitting at the shipping yard,,,,,,on the east coast (Virginia if I remember right) It gets better,,,,,
He then told me it was ready to ship to a buyer and he was paying all shipping cost
I told him I wasn't interested in buying something I couldn't drive to look at. He continued to contact me 2 more times trying to sell.

My advice,,,stay away from it.

Hahaha,,,boy that truck gets around the country. As I suspected, I'm sure when anyone contacts the seller that is in the area the truck is listed (such as I did) he tells them the truck is sitting in some other part of the country, so it's not able to be seen.

You'll get a kick out of it. $50 says he'll use a similar story on you as he did me

Because he has a lot of pictures of it. I'd guess he probably has other vehicles too. He stole these pictures and the description he uses from GreenMonster's Car Domain site.

Re: green blazer scam yet again

Here is what he wrote back to me:

Hi,

I appreciate your interest for my truck. It is still for sale. It has 72000 miles and it is in perfect condition by everything(engine, trans, interior, exterior). You need only gas and you can run it without any problems at all.The vin number is CKE182S11917.The title is clear and on my name.Reason of sale is that i moved to Birmingham(United Kingdom) with my new job and i can't register the truck here since it is made for USA, according to USA standards so i guess it is time for my truck to get a new home. The price is $4500 and i am sorry but i don't accept trades.I already have lots of emails that i need to sort them out and i will take in consideration only those persons who are really interested in buying my truck to be sure that we don't waste each other time.Let me know if you want to see more pictures and i will send them to you.

Thank you.

P.S. If you decide to buy the truck,i will make a private auction just for you on eBay so you can purchase it there. That way you will receive assistance for the purchase, paperwork, title transfer and an extended warranty. They also are guaranteeing purchases up to 50.000 so we will both be protected.

Dan Hade

I then requested pics and he replied with this:

Hi,
The truck is already at the shipping company in Richmond-VA but it was listed nation wide on craigslist, so it appeared in local searches too. I took the truck to them to be able to ship it to my potential buyer whilst I'm out of town.My brother in law works there, and he promised me that it will cost me nothing to ship it in the Continental US. I also have the truck listed on eBay and that lets me use their secured system. I'm very busy with my job and I'm sorry I can't meet you in person. About the eBay program....they offers a 3 day inspection time with a return policy "no question asked". So after you receive and inspect the truck, if you decide not to keep it, you just return it at my own expense. I strongly doubt that you will find anything wrong, but I agree with these terms.
So please let me know if you are interested so i can give you the directions to the ebay site so you can check the auction.
Thank you

Re: green blazer scam yet again

I hope GreenMonster sees this thread so he can report the photos to Photobucket and hopefully stop the guy from using his truck.
