Re: who's got fat rear tires?
I would also like to know some tire and wheel combo's. I am not sure if it would be worth my time to change to a 5 lug just toget more rim options. Truck is a LS swap and can't stop the tires from smoking...

Re: who's got fat rear tires?
Greg,
Love the fat tires, did you have to cut down that axle, what kind of back spacing and what size tire is that? I also have a stepside and that looks great! Last edited by lq9c10; 01-03-2010 at 07:13 PM. |

Re: who's got fat rear tires?
The chopped 67 has 21.5-33-15 on 15x15 pro stars, the green one is also a stepside with 29-15.5-15 on 15x 12 Centerline Pro-Convo rims. Not sure of the backspacing off hand. Both of the rears have been cut, Dana 60 about 40" in the 67, 9" about 48" in the 68, both with good internals and disc brakes. The 68 will be complete this spring.

Re: who's got fat rear tires?
I have a question.
When I decide to go with new wheels on my 72 GMC Shortbed Fleetside, my thinking is that I wanna go as WIDE as I can in the Rear , WITHOUT Modifications (I.E. Tubbed Rear, Bigger Wheel Whells ect). So when I go to the tire shop, is it the "Backspace" that is what decides the width of the Tire/Wheel will be? (obviously the wheel well/other physical obsticals come into play also). I'm just generalizing here......... Roger "RATIKLE"
