Steering column issue
Not an issue really but more like a question. Is there any way to shorten the steering columns in 67-72. Some of us guys are big or tall and need belly room or arm room so thats why I ask. Cannot stand driving with my elbow bent so much. Shime in if you know of a way.

Re: Steering column issue
there is a FAQ re: this. you can drill out the two spots on the collapsible shaft, then with the column loose push is towards the firewall a couple of inches..... the only downfall is that in a wreck it's already partially collapsed..... good luck....

Re: Steering column issue
yeah its not that hard just drill out the 2 on each flat side steering shaft white nylon pins you can see to circles on it and drill out the two nylon pins till theirs no more white then turn it around a do the same then move the neutral safety switch up 2 inchs. and cut in the rectangular hole agian. youull notice it and the steering shaft should move in just put on a vise on on ground get hammer so itll collaspe.

Re: Steering column issue
i wonder if you could get the cadilac adjustable steering column and adapt it ? it might take some modifications, but it would be adjustable in and out and up and down. good luck with your quest !
