Want to say hello and had some questions

Hello, I have a 1966 1/2 ton c10 long bed step side Chevy truck with the L6 250 straight six and the three on the tree transmission. The problem I have is that my steering column. is wiped out and the trans leaks bad ,so I bought a rebuilt 3 speed top loader manual trans. from a friend only to find out the new one is shorter with no tail shaft. He has the long one piece drive line 56 1/2" long on the shaft but wants to keep it.My truck is not set up for the carrier bearing two piece drive line. I would just have a drive line made but I will be going to a V8 this summer and already have a turbo 350 that I have had already built. The question I have for the board is what year of Chevy trucks and ton rating have the one piece 56 1/2" shaft ,1/2ton rear end ,and 3 speed top loader manual transmission. Thanks hope you can help me.

Re: Want to say hello and had some questions

G'day and welcome from down under.

I can't help you mate but I am sure someone else on here can.

Perhaps you should try starting a thread with a specific problem like this in the right spot.
This chunk is more for just telling us who you are and showing us lots of pix of your pride and joy. The experts and gurus only wear their thinking cap in the other tech discussion forums.

Have fun
Lara
