Re: 1960 GMC with a dual range Hydramatic
what year is it out of. if it fits into the years mentioned under the photo that I inserted, that is what it is. that model is a 4 speed. all those old hyrdramatics were. there may be a little different mounting on the bellhousing and your dipstick comes out of the pan and the one that I show comes out of the top of the casing on the r/side. i is an earlier application but the same thing

That is from a 1960 model and was mated to a 305 V-6.

Re: 1960 GMC with a dual range Hydramatic
so there are others? who rebuilds them for you? I got like 12 manuals from all over and a few tools for rebuilding them. Those look nice. I love them old hudro's. Got one in a 57 GMC with 347v8 and a 1960 runner for parts.

I have Dual Range Hydramatics in 3 of my Hudson Hornets. Great tranny. 4 spd and really nice shifting.

Re: 1960 GMC with a dual range Hydramatic
the reason I'm curious is that I pulled the drivtrain from a 60 gmc in order to get its hydro for my 57 GMC. no linkage or steering column but all the rest was there and it ran. I realised that under the right conditions the parts was unique enough to be worth holding on to. so I have.
