Sleeve bag questions

Hi All,
I want to redo the back of my truck, its an 82 longbed c10 and Im running a 3-link and 2" c-notch with contitech 2500lb bags behind the rear axle.
Due to the current shock/bag setup Im only getting 5.5 " of travel.
Im going to a 7" bridge and want to keep the 3 link, and behind axle bag setup, but maybe go to sleeve bags as I hear they ride good and seem to get pretty good travel.

What sort of bags should I go for ? I want about 8" of travel out of the new setup and was looking at firestone bags. I read on here that they need to be travel limited but is there anything else I should b considering before buying ?

thanks in advance

Re: Sleeve bag questions

We used the F9000 on all our rear kits. Mounted behind the axle like you have pictured you will get right at 7.5" of travel. You do need to have the bag limited by a strap or shock (otherwise it will tear the bag apart).

I think you have a good plan.

Re: Sleeve bag questions

Does anybody have any experience with the airlift sleeve bags? The reason I ask is because the firestone bags compress to 4.5" whereas the airlift bags compress to 2.8". The firestone bag will not allow my truck to get as low as it could.

airlift is the first picture.

Not meaning to highjack this thread, but I was just wondering if I have to run a sleeve type bag on the back of my dropmember, or something like a slam bag? I just don't like how the firestone sleeved bags are plastic or some kind of composite. Should I not worry about the firestone bags and just use them?

Thanks, Justin

That's what Nate of Porterbuilt, and Tony of Ride Tech recommend.

Re: Sleeve bag questions

Airlift Dominators get some good lift for a 2600k bag.... I don't like sleeves for a main source just due to looks.
