Clutch Bell crank brkt (z-bar) question ??

Hey guys 2 questions.
1) There is a bracket that is riveted to the lh frame rail that the ball stud mounts to for the clutch linkage bell crank (z-bar). Was that on every frame or did they only put it on the ones ordered with manual transmission?
2) The ball stud on the inboard side of the z-bar, does it bolt in to the engine block or the bell housing.

Howdy, yes there is a rivited bracket on top of the frame. I don't know if auto's came with it also. If I had to guess I would say no they didn't..guessing so???

yes the engine side of the Z-bar has the ball in the engine casting.

There are pics floating around this site somewere if you do a search. I'll check my looot of pics....

my 69 swb was a three on the tree and it has the bracket riveted to the frame. My Blazer has the holes for it but not the bracket. I will assume that my Blazer has always been an automatic

Thanks guys for the info so far. I am contemplating an Auto to Manual swap on my '72 K5 and and gathering all the info. Mine doesn't have the brkt on the frame. I am going to search for some pictures. I saw a bellhousing for sale on ebay that looked like the ball stud on the inboard side was mounted in the bellhousing but I always thought it threaded in to the block. Just trying to confirm. If anyone has a couple of pics of this area handy that would be huge. thanks, Jeff.

One thing you may want to look into is converting to hydro clutch instead of manual linkage. I did it to my 72 when I put 454 in.
I think I may still have all the peices from the manual setup in my garage
