Re: US body source?
It's ok - not as high quality as VFN or Glasstek but not as expensive, either.
I have their liftoff cowl hood, their bolt on flat hood, and their glass front bumper, all for my '74 Chevelle. I went with them mostly because they had a lot of parts for my "unusual" (a little bit, anyway) car. K

(The customer service and production delays are/were inexcusable, but any glass I've seen takes a lot of work to make it fit). In fact, I just remembered this story: after I got the flat glass hood installed I was at the racetrack and a guy walked up. He said "...is that a glass hood?". I halfway proudly said "yeah". He said, "I could tell. It fits like shi@t!". This is of course after I spent weeks and $100's of dollars to get it on there K

Re: US body source?
The unlimited looks great is kinda local to me but their hoods dont have the reveal down the middle of the hood and the only do a 4" cowl if i get a cowl id like a 2" . Id love to find A Vic Hickey center drop hood. That why i was looking at us body source.

Re: US body source?
I have a Harwood 4 inch bolt on and it fits better than my stock hood did. I was going to get one than the fan blade went threw the hood so that was the push I needed

Re: US body source?
rigon4 and Restorob, did you buy the bolt on/latch hoods ? If so, what does the underside look like ?
I looked at fiberglass bolt on hood from VFN and it appears to have the stock steel under structure with fiberglass skin on top. Are the Harwood bolt on's built this way also ? Or are they 100% fiberglass ?

Underside look terrible, hood was extremely bowed and required steel tubing with well nuts on each side to pull it straight. For the money I spent, I expected better.

Re: US body source?
Mine is bolt on, It has metal inserts at the hinge and latch areas. It was purchased/installed back in 97 when the truck was new. Has no stress cracks or issues anywhere after 14 yrs, It also fended well when a gust of wind slammed it straight up and put the cowl through the windshield at a car show.
You can click my pic link then scroll to the second pic from the bottom, Click on this pic for a larger view of the inside.....

Re: US body source?
I think bigblock73 is talking about Unlimited Products I asked him about that and everyone else about Harwood in the same post.
Harwood looks to be the best option so far. This is the first time I've ever heard anyone talk about a fiberglass body panel fitting well out of the box.
