@$(*)@!!!! peice of @#@$#$

damn flexplate is cracked!

i could only see 2 bolts that hold it to the tranny, but both of those are cracked, so i'm gonna assume that the other ones are too.

but on a good note, my torque conveter isnt loose

Sorry for your bad luck Eric, but at least you found it. There seems to be a lot of these cracked flexplates going around lately.

Hey, wait until you spend 3 weeks installing and properly seting up a 2004R tranny, only to find 2 days after your done that your flexplate is cracked in a full circle and the flexplate shouldnt even be on anymore and you have to pull the tranny back off!
Can you tell I wasent happy?
Good luck bro.

I looked at mine today and didn't find a crack, but I wasn't really looking for a crack. I was making sure the bolts are tight and it spins true. so far so good. I have to re-adjust my shifter now. It takes me forever to get it right again!

bet my day was worse. spend from 130am-830am replacing a lower radiator hose, rebuilding a motor mount, completely rebuilding a distributor, drove to bethany to get parts a 530am, put plugs in, readjusted timing and tuned carb.. then worked 8 hrs on no sleep!

LMAO I had that happen to me before

Broke in a circle and there where stress fractures from all the holes leading to the center that broke out. Now if I could only get it to rev like it did with nothing bolted up to the crank.

Here's another one for you. On Smokie55's panel truck we installed a new flex plate with bolts from GM no loess and got tranny and transfer case in. Then for some reason I looked and the flex plate bolts to the crank were too long to where we couldn't crank the engine if we tried (thank goodess we didn't!!). So out had to come the transfer case then tranny. We were not happy You would think the GM dealer would know what size bolts to give!!
