1949 chevy heater
Does anyone happen to have some pics of how to hook up a heater on a 1949 chevy pickup? The heater appears to all be there. There's no controls, and I found to wires coming out of the back of the heater. Do you shut the heat off with shut off valves? Probably a stupid question, but I have no idea where to start. Thanks

Post a picture of what you have. There were atleast a half dozen different heaters available in that series truck. Most were on / off by a water valve on the engine and the air doors were manual lever on the heater itself witha single speed or 2 speed motor.

This is the style heater I have. There is one wire coming out of that looks like probably a ground and one looks to be a hot wire. My main problem is the water hoses and shutting off the heat.

These heaters are really basic. You just need a switch to turn on the motor and that's it. You really don't need to have heater hose shut off valves, but you can if you want to. It would probably be a good idea since it is a heater takes its intake from the outside cowl, and will most likely have air constantly flowing through it.
