trans
hi everyone! some questions and advise please. my son wants to change the trans gear so we can have posi-traction. i have a 64 with 400 trans now. it was done by p o, the454 and trans both were rebuilt about 500 miles ago dont know what year they both are. what years fit the axel so i can trade them cost estamate,ect. thanks for the help. hurry spring

Positraction is in the rear axle and has nothing to do with your trans or engine, except what RPM range you want to drive in.
A completely rebuilt rear axle around here runs around 1500 bucks. If yours is good, then only the carrier and gears would be changed. The whole thing would still have to come apart to do it, pretty much.
