6 cylinder engine swap

Thinking about buying a 51 chevrolet truck, the truck has a 235. I have a mid 70's model 250 inline 6, how difficult would it be to convert from the 235 to the 250?? (any bell housing issues, transmission, etc)

It's a pretty big job considering they are 2 different animals, but it is done frequently. You will need a cross member under the bell housing from a 54. You need a bell housing from a 55-67 V-8 or a 63-67. 68 to 72 will work if they used a 6 cyl. You will need to fab clutch linkage, exhaust, & electrical. You will need an engine mount kit.

Another question, does anyone know of a bolt on front end clip for a 51 or a 58 pickup??

Re: 6 cylinder engine swap

carburetor linkage, column shift linkage, exhaust, wiring, clutch plate size, transmission crossmember, engine mounts, all have to me modified or fabricated.
