need help with rotors

ok I am in the process of putting a 81 front end in my 60 and am looking at spendles I see some that are 1" and some 1 1/4" rotors and I have read about both on here. so do I get the 1 1/4 spindle and change the rotors or what? give me some help and advice here.

Well, the thicker rotors are more massive and arguably better for durability and performance.

So, if you cared to step up to big rotors, you'd need the spindles, rotors, bearings and seals. You'd just have to ask yourself if the perceived advantage is worth the cost.

If not, you can buy the spindles for thin rotors and run your thin rotors and such that you already own.

Is the extra expense worth it to you ?

well cheaper is better. if I did go with the 1 1/4" rotors what all am I looking at replacing?

72 Suburban. Since my truck is a 63 it was a straight bolt in.

Pickup rearend the same as Suburban ? No, the Suburban uses wider brakes. That's the one reason I sought this rear out. I wanted 5 lug and bigger brakes.
