Re: rear window stuck down.pics
The black box is the motor for the for the power window. The cable that screws in and goes to the regulator. You should be able to hook a drill to the cable to make it move. I think 78 was the first year for power window. Manual and power window ues different regulators that is why the manual crank will not work

Re: rear window stuck down.pics
No. The tailgate is from a 78 or newer. To get the rear window up you will need to spin the cable in the upper left of your first picture, the one that looks like a speedometer cable in blue. The electric motor will need power ran to it and you'll need to make sure the safety switch inside the tailgate on the drivers side is working properly as it keeps the motor from operating with the tailgate open. IMHO the best way to fix it would be to get a true manual tailgate. running wires from the front tapped into the fuseblock is always bad news.

Re: rear window stuck down.pics
it isn't. if the rear window is down it sucks the fumes in. i've had side before and after the rear wheels and directly out the back under the bumper and all sucked the fumes in with the window down

Re: rear window stuck down.pics
need convertors to help kill the exhaust fumes, then out the sides not the back.

Re: rear window stuck down.pics
Exhaust out the sides, just behind the rear tires. Little to no fumes unless you romp on it getting on the freeway or something. It REALLY helps to have the side windows rolled down too.
All bets are off it it's a worn out smoker |

Re: rear window stuck down.pics
both. the regulator in the rear window draws a lot of amperage and no one ever puts large enough wiring to carry that amperage across that distance.
