Push button Downshift switch
So for the longest time I've had my detent switch for my th400 disconnected because when I swapped carbs I never got a new bracket to remount it. I was wondering if anyone else wired up a button instead to control when they go into "passing gear". Always thought it'd be a cool idea, just press a button tranny kicks down and away you go. Anyone else done it?

Re: Push button Downshift switch
I had one in my last '68 before I swapped in the 700R4. Worked fine, just had to remember it was there. LOL

Re: Push button Downshift switch
I rode in a blazer that had a switch like that, he had a lighted button that would flash every once in awhile to remind him he had it in third gear, that way he wouldnt forget to push the button. He found a simple timer circuit online somewhere. It was a neat setup.

Re: Push button Downshift switch
I actually had installed one I was just curious to see if any else did. I haven't really tested it out and I was wondering, when it's in thrid does it kick down to 2nd? and If I am in 2nd and hit it will it drop me down to first? I just don't wanna try it on the freeway in 3rd and have it drop me down to first!
