In need of some advice

I just brought my Suburban out of hibernation this Easter weekend. I changed the oil and got it all cleaned up and installed my new mirrors. Since I don't have a garage to work in and the summers here are short, I'm trying to figure out my plan for the summer. My original plan was to convert it over to a 1/2 ton, slam it, and install a set of 22" Centerline Smoothie wheels. Then I was hoping to do some bodywork on it like weld the holes where my old mirrors were and fix what little rust there is and repaint it the factory colors. Now i'm wondering if I should leave the suspension alone and tackle the bodywork first and mabey work on the suspension next year. Between work, my honey-do list, and my promise to build my kids a treehouse, my time to work on my burb is limited. What should I do????

Re: In need of some advice

i'd do the body work first and drive it for a while to find out what else might be wrong with it before you do suspension mods.if i were you i'd put the old mirrors back on. the new style ones don't look good on older trucks.

Man that truck is super clean from what i can see, i would just fix the little rust spots and drive it how it is , you dont see that many like that here in ohio salt destroys them.

Re: In need of some advice

From the pics the body looks pretty good. If it were me I would do the drop and wheels. That would look awesome!

Re: In need of some advice

I hate to sound negative, but I don't think those mirrors go well with the overall look of the truck. I would leave the paint alone and lower it.

Re: In need of some advice

Cool burb! I would find some dumbo mirrors, keep it 8 lug, put it in the weeds. There are some 8 lug wheels in the parts section if you are looking to save a few $$ (not smoothies though)
