Re: paint color..

I beleive the top color is called Canyon Copper. I am unsure on the lighter tan color at the moment.

Re: paint color..

The lower looks the same as on my 87 that is red on top and tan on bottom. Code is 61L, PPG defines it as "Tan".

Re: paint color..

Should be a label in the glove box with all the options. Look through the codes and find the one that has two numbers and the letter U after it, like 70U or something, this will be the upper color code. Then the lower code will be two numbers and the letter L after it, like 61L.

Get me those codes and I'll plug them in to the mixing computer here and let you know what it is calling them for sure. I still go by basic colors like red, white, silver etc, but of course they have all sorts of weird names for all the colors.

Re: paint color..

From my glove box -

55U = canyon copper

For some reason I don't have a paint code in the glove box for the tan.

Re: paint color..

55U pulls up two codes, depending on year model. One is called Linen Beige the other Russet Poly.

I think at home I have the PPG color books from 84-87 years. We got duplicates for a few years and I tossed them in my tool box, thought they'd be neat to have. Now to see if I can find them.

Re: paint color..

If you go to the tcpglobal website http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/ you can pull up the paint codes and chips for all years.
