Turn Signal Issue
I have a 61 apache longbed stepside and an issue with my turn signals. While all 4 of them work, they don't blink.
Shortly after I bought the truck, the wiring shorted out and melted much of the stock wires and this is when it started so I'm thinking that the blinker hardware was damaged. Does anyone know which part causes the blinker to blink and where it's located? |

Re: Turn Signal Issue
The flasher looks like the item shown at the attached link, and is located on the fuse panel on the inside firewall to the left of the steering column.

I don't see the part referenced in your link, is it the rectangular part on the bottom of fuse panel in photo 1? |

Re: Turn Signal Issue
According to the photos shown on the following link, the rectangular metal can at the bottom of the panel in your first picture is the flasher. I've just never seen one with that shape. Try pulling/wiggling it off and see if the probes look like the ones in the earlier photo link.

Re: Turn Signal Issue
Thanks everyone! With your help I have resolved the issue!
I went to O'Reilly's looking for the Flasher Relay and they didn't find it in their computer but there it was right next to the fuses. Apparently it's a fairly universal part, plug and play! |

Re: Turn Signal Issue
By the way the stock one was rectangular and I replaced it with a cylindrical one as suggested earlier in the thread.
