i picked these up from napa, brand new never installed lower control arm u bolts with nuts. you are supposed to drill out the saddle holes to 5/8 to make these fit, they are a lot beefier than stock...i just really dont feel like enlarging the hole. so im looking to trade for some stock size lca u bolts, preferably new.

All the vendor have gone to the bigger size of u bolt. I orderd new ones from classic parts of america and recieved the larger ones. They get them straight from GM and said they dont offer the original 1/2 size anymore. Good luck on finding them new. If I find my old ones i would just mail them off to you.

just call or check with a spring shop..they will make up anything you want..like if you wanted to add a lowering block or something...ussually about $50

I just installed those on my front end rebuild and didnt have to drill anything out.
I threw my orignals away. sorry.

well, they were too big so I returned them. anyone selling both sets or know what else I could use here or where I can get some?

edit - I fit a bolt that came with the suicide doors bag kit and it fit perfect so im guessing the aize is 3/8..

I would't feel confertable with used for this aplication. Those do receive a lot of stress and have been known to break. WES

true. the ones i cut off looked like doo doo, good thing i didnt waste my time trying to unbolt them. seems like the custom made ones are expensive though, i was hoping someone had a set laying around they were not gonna use, maybe get lucky or something!

I"ve seen one of the small ones break. Wouldn't use one on anything I cared about. Or anyONE I care about.

Yes to go to the larger bolts you will need to enlarge the holes. That would be my first choice. WES

anyone with the stockish size u bolts? i really need these! if i dont get anything by the end of tomorrow i will just go get the napa ones again and open up the hole i guess.

one more question, does anyone know if napa (or any auto parts store) would sell that same u bolt but in a smaller size?
