new guy here

Hello everyone, I bought my first truck the other day, its not in to bad of shape . It is a 1979 Shortbed, 250 CI with a 3 on the tree. I do have a question though, my flashers wont turn off. The turn signals were working before then I pushed in the button for the hazards and then they never did turn off. Anyone have any ideas, much appreciated. Thanks!

Yo! I had the same experience with another vehicle,...it's a broken hazard flasher switch. They over ride all other lights.
Have you tryed pulling back on the surrounding ring on the button for the hazards? That is the way this mechanism was to be turned off.

Thats what I assumed... it to me seems like a stuck closed switch that wont come undone. I tried pulling back on the plastic piece and no luck, I pulled back hard. I tried pulling the steering wheel so I can look at the switch itself and I don't know how to get any farther on the disassembly where it has the locking mechanism and that green circular piece. Where is Ault at , Im originally for Colorado Springs but now stationed at Fort Gordon Ga?

You'll need to reverse the assembly procedure,...another fellow and I have added all our threads together to produce one for disassembly and re-assembly, but I'd have to search to find it again. Might be searched under "turn signal switch",...but mine should be obvious.
Mine pulls quite hard too,...worse you can do is break it, and it sounds like it's broke as is anyway. The outer sleeve should pull out and open the switch.
Ault is 16 miles N of Greeley and 20 miles E of Ft Collins.
My wife's parents were from the Security/Widefield area.

Tomorrow, Im gonna work on the truck a little, Ill let you know how it goes! Thanks for the help. Probably just end up getting the new switch cause thats what I think it was with me pressing it in. Ill definitely be back to these forums since this truck is my little project.
