Header Gaskets????
What type of header gasket is the best to run on a 350? I know they sell several different material types of gaskets, I want to buy one that I wont have to replace over and over. Any suggestions???

If you are using the headers on a stock cast iron cylinder head I have had the best luck just using the stock manifold gaskets.

Ive got headers on mine. The best and cheapest ive found is stock manifold gaskets from a ninetys model. Ive never had a leak and they are easy to get at any local parts store.

I use the aluminium type and they work great, just be sure to recheck the torque after a couple of heat cycles unless you are using the locking type fasteners.

I got some Mr Gasket ultra seal ones from oreillys for $12 and they seem to be working good.

I don't know a certain torque value. Just nice and tight with a wrench by hand (don't try and break them off tight) and remember to recheck them.

When I ran headers on the burb, I just used those white Mr Gasket gaskets.
Though what I did is soak them in a pan of water for a day or so, that way when I installed them they had a tiny bit of squish which when dried gave a better seal IMO. As for torque on the header bolts, I just used the German torque value of good n' tight.
