frame difference
I have a 77 chevy truck and i found a parts truck that is a 84 i believe but its the newer front end. Are the frames any different from a 77 to the newer style.

Re: frame difference
I believe they're the same bud. Different bumpers and bumper brackets though.

Re: frame difference
i thought they were but thought i would make sure before i go trying to swap frames and stuff wont line up. I knew the front bumper brackets are a little different but that should be a problem. Thanks

Re: frame difference
There is a lot of minor things that are different. Frame horns, tranny crossmember and mounting, and front core support mounts all come to mind.

Re: frame difference
Everything will bolt on fine....
Swapped an '85 cab/clip onto a '73 frame not long ago.........easy as pie.

Re: frame difference
Good mine was broke between the pass side spring mounts and i welded metal plates in to fix it. Now its starting to crack around the gear box for the steering. And im tired of it and dont feel to safe trying to turn 40'' tires even though i dont drive it that much. So when i get the new frame im going to beef up around the steering before anything else.
