How do you remove the rear hatch hardware
Basically like the title says. How do I remove the latching mechanism from the hatch itself. I just picked up a great hatch , but the lock/latch mechanism is set up some, so I would like to remove it to clean it up some.
here is the hatch: the only bad spots: Thanks

Re: How do you remove the rear hatch hardware
Where the shaft of the hatch handle goes through the mechanism on the back side start wd40 etc the hell out of that. The shaft slides very tighly through that square hole and they rust/seize into place. I had to take a C clamp and cock it to line up on the shaft and the mechanism and press if off. Others have used hammers. That is the hardest part to me
