S10 frame guys battery location?

For those of you who've done the S10 swap on your AD's, where are you putting your battery? If I can't find a better idea, mine's going on the passenger side in the engine compartment. Getting close to having to wire mine, and the battery will be my starting point.

Re: S10 frame guys battery location?

Frenched mine about 4" down into the passenger's fender, think Jeffs51chevy did as well (I'm sure he'll chime in, and it's on his build thread.) Gives enough room for the heater core hoses to come out.

Cheers,
Ted.

Any concern with that tire contacting it? Any pictures of how you oriented the battery (parallel or perpendicular to the firewall)?

Trying to keep as much room available for a squirter tank and coolant recovery tank as possible, as well as the heat and A/C lines you've referenced.

Re: S10 frame guys battery location?

Placed it about 1" from the side of the fender and about 1-1 1/2" from the firewall, perpendicular and was tons of room with the tires.

Ted.

PS Will see if I can find a pic of it when I get home for ya.

Re: S10 frame guys battery location?

PLAN A: make custom inner fenders and core support simular to a S10 and place it at the right front. PLAN B: place it back on the frame rail back at the rear right fender behind the wheel.

Yup, 4 1/2 down and about 1 1/2 away from the inner/outer fender transition. As stated, tons of room. Search "S10 Swappers Battery Location ideas" posted in February. It should give you a couple more ideas. I will try to find a finished photo of mine. I know Atomsplitter has a great photo of the finished product.
