Tie Rod End Adapter Sleeve

I have a 65 C10 that has spindles from a 73+ C10 I need a tie rod end adjuster sleeve that will adapt from the 65 inner tie rod end to the 73 outer end. Anyone know where I can find one?

Thanks

Re: Tie Rod End Adapter Sleeve

I thought Classic Performance (CPP) and Early Classic (ECE) both carried these. I even found an older forum thread with a link to the CPP parts, but the link is now dead. Perhaps the adapter sleeves have been discontinued. The simplest solution may be to change to 1973 steering linkage and idler arm. They're a lot beefier than the 60's components.

I just did a disc brake upgrade on a '63 and used the sleeve from CPP, worked great. Your right about using the outer rod as the inner. I cursed CPP for a few days until I figured out it was designed correctly..

Re: Tie Rod End Adapter Sleeve

Instead of a using a custom sleeve, here is a thread from a member who found a way to do it with a replacement tie rod end you can get at a normal parts store.

http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...77#post1298277

Now now this guy was putting a 71-72 brake setup on a 69, so I did a little reasearch before posting something I might regret later. The 67-70 tie rod ends are the same as 65 and the 71-72 tie rod ends are the same as 73-up.
