I have a lot of questions.
1. Where is the motor suppose to sit with a 350/350? I have a SBC in at the rear holes. It has a 3 speed, but im going to try to change over to an auto. Im not sure about floor clearance.

2. Im gathering the parts for a disk swap. Who has the cheapest 6 lug rotors for the 73-87 spindles? Also, what upper ball joint will i need to put the spindle on?

3. Do i have to put power steering on my truck if i put on disc brakes?

4. Does anyone have a link to where i have to cut the bed to do a shortbed conversion? Frame?

5. Do any OEM 6 lug wheels fit without spacers?

Factory installs used the rear holes with all transmissions. For some strange reason, a lot of people just don't want to believe this.

The cheapest are the no-name vendors on ebay. If you don't like buying from those, check the websites for all the usual suspects, like CPP, ECE, Online Performance, etc.
Use stock 73-87 balljoints. However, it is easier to swap the 73-87 control arms/shafts, and then you get the later type bushings which don't need any greasing.

Nope. You don't even have to put on a brake booster.

AFAIK, all the stock wheels up to 87 do, except that you can't use the non-disc brake 15" wheels on the fronts if you have discs.

I have a hole front frame clip of my 2wd blazer, but I needed the upper arms. Cheap enough i know...
I still have the single line master so thats another hurdle. my buddy has the flaring kit from snap-on, but I have never attempted anything like that. What master do i use?

Now just to find Short bedsides or shorten mine....

Another question.
What would happen if we moved the motor forward?
I didnt make it in time to tell my mechanic that it was in the correct location, so he moved the motor forward already...

just finished well mostly swap upper and lower arms, pick up brake master cylinder form 78 c-10 with non power brakes and porp. valve with lines all bolts up need to add 1-1.5 in to brake push rod blead brakes and drive most all after market wheels should fit good luck and most of all have fun

It won't hurt anything if you move the engine forward. A lot of rodders like it that way because it gives you more clearance around the distributor and valve covers. The only problem is that you may have to rework some stuff which attaches to the engine or transmission, like linkages, exhaust, driveshaft, etc. Also, be sure to check the clearance between your oil pan and the crossmember, especially if it's a high capacity pan.

If the engine is moved forward, the stock hook up parts won't work for you as Ray mentioned. Plus if you are using the long water pump, you may have issues with the factory fan shroud if you have one....don't know for sure.

I believe my radator is incorrect. No shroud yet either. Hopefully we'll get it started in the next few days

Ok so on to a few more questions. Who makes short fleetsaide bed panels?
Does anyone have a step by step showing how they shortened there long bed sides?
Off to the truck shop to get a few odds and ends. Should try cranking her over today.

I moved my 283 forward to allow some extra room for the HEI and tall valve covers, but I switched to a 350TH at the same time. Fabbed a trans xmember and shortened the forward shaft of my 2 piece drive shaft.

You might want to be careful before ordering anything based on that wheel info. That chart shows the 3/4 ton trucks as having 6 lug wheels, so there could very well be other errors in there too.
