best way to remove a stripped door handle/window crank bolt?

I've got two bolts giving me issues, on one door it's the inside handle, on the other door it's the window crank; both are stripped and won't budge a bit. I bought an ez-out kit but it doesn't look like I can get any of the bits in due to the bulky drill and the short nature of the bits. Any advice how I can get these things off?

Thanks!

Re: best way to remove a stripped door handle/window crank bolt?

Are they the screw that holds the handle to the splined shaft? On small screws I have drilled the center with a small bit then drove the next size in to the hole and used it like an easyout with vice grips. It sacrefices the bit but gets it out. I seem to recall driving a nail into a small hole once too.

yeah their those little screws that used a hex bit to remove, I'll give that a shot. My primary problem is the lack of room to fit my drill in but I'll see if I can't get a longer bit.

look in the electrical section at lowes.etc, they have long bits and extensions for fishing wires, I have a couple. If its a recessed hex, try a torx driver a little larger if you have one.
