Re: At long last
Hi Dave I must say thanks again for all the help you gave me in getting this truck back on the road very much appreciated . I have just put a high gear ring and pinion on it and we are off to Inverness next weekend.

Re: At long last
It’s a 1971 ex police Harley Davidson GE Servi-car fitted with a 93 Sportster 883 engine. One of only a couple over here, I am going to have it marked up as a garage hack rather than with police decals as Scottish cops aren’t renown for their sense of humour.

Re: At long last
The truck was imported from North Dakota two years ago by the former owner who then decided it was too much for him to tackle so he sold it on. I bought it with the intention of installing a V8 and clipping it but the running gear was in such good nick I went with rebuilding it stock, the only changes were converting to 12 volt and fitting an electric wiper motor convection. It’s a great wee driving truck and fairly turns heads when carrying my Harley.
Cheers Stan. |

Re: At long last
Very slick, I learned to drive in a 54 pickup so I have a bit of a soft spot for them.
The trike is nice too. There was a shop around here in the 50's that had one that they had a tow bar rig on so they could ride it out and pick up a customers car and hook it to the back bumper of the customer car and tow it back or do the reverse and tow it along when they delivered a customer car. |

Re: At long last
Now thats what I need to go to work in. I'm tired of getting cut off in traffic. With that I could just roll over them or bust a BIG cap in their A@#.
