Stock Jimmy

Good looking, stock Jimmy (link to dealer's site from ebay) http://www.harwellmotors.com/showcar...=682#mainImage

Looks very original, but shouldn't the firewall be the color of the truck if it is factory?

Re: Stock Jimmy

Looks like a quick spray to spruce up the engine bay (look under the A/C box in this picture)

It never says original paint...just nice paint. More and more people are abusing the words original and unmolested when describing vehicles that have been re-sprayed, restored, and had minor changes done to them. It's only original once and this one like many others is not. It's still a really nice jimmy. just misrepresented.....

Re: Stock Jimmy

why must dealers always "wreck" trucks by painting them. I would much rather buy a truck with original paint. Who knows what's under that thick paint job. It would have been just as cool with faded original paint.

Re: Stock Jimmy

Top has been repainted too. Notice the painted over broken off rain gutters at the bottom of the rear hatch, and the painted hinge gromets. Also note that the reat bumper may be a rechrome or repop. I thought the area behind the license plate should be flat black. Don't get me wrong, its a very nice ride, but unmolested original it is not.

Re: Stock Jimmy

Whats up with the front standard marker lites and the CST rear ones? That is not right...

and the drivers door panel cut on the bottom with 3 bolts...again...not right, should be 4

And 70 wood also have wood in the top of door panel too.

Re: Stock Jimmy

Just looked again, the steering is a green one painted orange..and also, the firewall and inside of fenders are black..they would be body color, with the factory chalk # on firewall. This is far from orignal..If it shows up in the pics, what does it look like in person?

Also if its a 350..there would be fender emblems. Its a 307 truck then

It may be gone but none of the pic angles would show it. The passenger one sits up on the "bed floor" on that side for clearance of people getting in and out of the back. Check out the drivers side seat belt tho---the cover is broken up and sitting on the mechanism backward.

The door panels wouldn't nessasarily have wood grain on the top. My '70 Jimmy Custom has all the woodgrain trim on the outside but none in the interior.

It is interesting that the fuel pump is missing as was stated earlier! No block off plate in place like they may have installed an electric pump!

This truck would be a fun driver but is definitely not unmolested as stated in the description.

Later---DAC

Re: Stock Jimmy

Is that even the correct bracket for the passenger side seat? It's different than what is in my 72, but maybe 70 Jimmy was different.

If you can score a DD that looks like that for $3500 - email me your schedule, cuz I'm flying you in to negotiate my next car deal.
