You can get everything you need from a 73-87 truck (up to 91 on Burbs). Swap the complete crossmember, or A-arms out.

If you keep the crossmember, swap everything from the A-arms out including the tie rods.

Re: i need parts list for brake swap

I'm planning on doing the same thing this weekend. I also have a 66 3/4 ton.

I found a guy locally who is selling parts from a 72 3/4 ton, and I was hoping that the front suspension from that would fit my truck.

What if I only replaced the spindles? Will the later spindles fit on the earlier control arms? Do you really have to do the entire front end?

Crap, I just got to thinking. I'm guessing the orginal brake master cylinder will not work for disc brakes. Will I also have to upgrade to a power booster and a better master cylinder?

Well, back to searching older posts.

Re: i need parts list for brake swap

The '71-'87 balljoints should fit the '66 control arms. I know the uppers will fit, and I'm about 90% that the lowers will also. Then the spindles, rotors, calipers, etc will bolt up. And yes you will have to upgrade the master cylinder and add a proportioning valve. You can get those from the same '72 parts truck. I offer a booster bracket that bolts onto the firewall using existing holes, or you can use the '72 booster and drill the holes to mount it. I have the steering box adapter plates as well.

Yes you can use it for a drum/drum brake setup. Use of this bracket has no direct effect on your braking system. This bracket simply allows you to add a power brake booster to your truck using a factory brake booster and without drilling more holes in your firewall. My '66 Suburban currently has drums all around with this same bracket. You'll just need to use the correct master cylinder
how is your drum setup i really wanted to keep my drums sence they were just rebuilt by PO but my research on brakes were just to do a swap to disk setup. Is it really nessary to do the swap do u have any issue with your drum setup
