anyone ever seen this window trim?
I've never seen stainless trim like this (the trim that wraps the driver door window - like where you would hang your elbow out while driving...) - has anyone else? I may just be missing something or never noticed it before. Or it may be custom. If it is, wow, what a great job.
Just curious if anyone was familiar or had seen it anywhere else other than on this sweet orange truck (that I've seen many pictures of on this site in the past). Thanks! Jocko Last edited by jocko; 08-17-2010 at 06:37 PM. |

Re: anyone ever seen this window trim?
it is the GMC custom cab door trim, and yes it does look very good when combined with the chevy piece.
it is aluminum

Re: anyone ever seen this window trim?
Better yet is to find the 1960 molding that goes across the back of the cab joining the Custom cab plates together. It really finishes of the split between the two tone paint of the Cameo White top and base color.

Re: anyone ever seen this window trim?
MORE great gouge... Thanks. WIll ook for that too. Have often thought it needed a divider on the two tone, but wouldn't want to get too fancy now... (anyone got a pic of that trim??)
or maybe I would. Thanks very much. Last edited by jocko; 08-17-2010 at 08:23 PM. |

Re: anyone ever seen this window trim?
Thanks! I agree, that really does look great. Wonder how come chevy never did that? Oh well, I guess they left the designer ideas to us hot rodders... I guess if it came that way, we would have never have discovered the cool idea to swap the GMC stuff (ok, more appropriately, YOU all would never have thought of it - I'd never have known what it was until you all told me).
So, thanks again! |

Re: anyone ever seen this window trim?
Hey Jocko i don't think they made trim for the back of the cab. I made one out off the bottom trim off the bed. I measured the perfect lenght to go in between the two custom cab trim cut it with a heck saw drilled the holes on the cab and used the snap clips too put it on. It looks nice, divided the two colors. It look like factory made. Just an idea?

Re: anyone ever seen this window trim?
I've seen one truck with this trim before. So it does exist, but is very elusive.

Re: anyone ever seen this window trim?
Someone had the complete custom cab trim (side sails and rear connecting trim) on ebay I think, asking somewhere between 5-9 hundred or something. Should have posted the link but didn't think too mch of it other than it was way too much for me at the time

Re: anyone ever seen this window trim?
C&C Autoranch in Texas had one many years ago, wanted $300 for the 3 pieces or $150 just for that rear molding across the back.

Re: anyone ever seen this window trim?
That is a nice truck, would have liked to see it brand new. I which i could find one like that with an original 348 ingine to buy. Does anyone know what the horse power on those engines was? just curious. It look nice in the picture fits the scenery, like a picture to hang in a wall. Thanks for posting.
