Transmission paint color - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I know I have seen both threads and pics with the information on 1972 3/4 ton 4x4 transmission paint colors but I cannot find them using search.
Could someone direct me to one or tell me the color for the automatics.
I know the engine color, and the correct transfer color but I seem to remember that the tranny's were completely different. Thanks.

Looks like it is possibly an off gray maybe silver?

Thanks. I can see a little of it. Mine was black when it came out and is now ready for paint and reinstallation. I think I will go gray. Silver is too bright and black will hide it in the frame. Thanks.

Who's ever underbody that it I want it. I don't think I have even seen a new car with it being that clean. Nicely done.
