pennzoil syncromesh oil

would this do ok in a 3spd manual trans in a 62 Chevy c10?
i would like to change oil in it just because it would most liking shift a little easier because it seems a little stiff.

oh and how many quarts would i need?

For what it's worth, when I swapped out my Turbo 350 for a Super T10 4 speed, the local manual transmission expert suggested I'd get better service by using straight 50 weight Valvoline motor oil instead of normal 90 weight hypoid lube. I followed his advice, and the transmission shifts easy and have had no wear issues in 6+ years.

I did some Google searching before I took his advice and found several threads confirming the same recommendation. The rear axle however cannot use motor oil, it must have hypoid lube or the gears will burn up.

I get the 50 wt Valvoline oil at Napa Auto. They don't carry it up front in the store, but they always have it in back if you just ask for it.
