IFS questions

Sorry about so many questions but not sure what I am doing yet. Can you use the mustang II front suspension on a 51 3/4 ton frame or is that too much difference from a 1/2 ton frame...or does it matter??

Re: IFS questions

I've had a bunch of half and 3/4 tons and I don't think there is a difference at the front of the frames, The big difference is behind the cab where the frame rails stay straight all the way back rather than being spread apart several more inches at the back on the 1/2 tons.

Re: IFS questions

The material is a little thicker and the frame gets a little taller just before the cab. It might only make a difference on the boxing plate. Check out welder series on how to put a MII crossmember in, good stuff.

Re: IFS questions

So maybe this is a better frame to stay with if I'm changing front suspension and wanting to shorten the box and move the rear diff forward? If the rear rails are more parallel to each other it should be easier to cut the frame and relocate the rear suspension without too much trouble.
