New 66!

I posted a few days ago about letting my 66 go to my Brother-in-law. I said that with some luck I would have another soon.

I found one and made the deal. Another 1966 C10 long bed. This truck was a project in progress at one time. It once had a 350 with a 350 turbo which were pulled by PO.

There is no windshield. The back glass is in the seat. The hood is in the bed. It appears to be a mess, but when you look around what isn't there you can see the body is straight and mostly solid. There is typical cancer in all the typical places, but the bed panels, hood and outer cab sheet metal is solid and straight.

For sake of time and space, I will post pics next weekend when I pick it up. It will obviously be trailered home.

My boy and I are excited to get started on this one.

Re: New 66!

Thanks for the congrats.

Today, I got the particulars in making it a legal truck without a valid title. In the state of Kansas, you can use a bill of sale as a transfer instrument if the title is not available. The vehicle will need to be VIN inspected before it can be tagged and titled. I called the KHP who does those inspections. Their office is just a couple miles away from where the truck sits now. The Inspection officer was nice enough to go look the truck over to be sure it will pass inspection. He said it would be good to go, but I would need to make it operable and road-worthy prior to inspection.

So, all it good and Christian and I will go get her this weekend as planned.

Re: New 66!

Friday night we brought the 66 home on a two wheel car dolly. It was only 25 miles out so it wasn't too bad. I am loading pics to my PC as I type. I will get some posted in a while. It needs a lot of work, but the body is in relatively good condition. The rest can be fixed. Tune in later for the pics.
