If I were to run a 04 6.0 with an earlier 5 speed what flywheel would I need to use in order to bolt up my clutch. I appreciate any help I can get on this subject

Re: another ls question
I think there are flywheels made with a slight offset to use an older tranny behind an ls engine. Also, you might need a spacer between engine and bellhousing... but I might be drunk.

Re: another ls question
I know there is at least one write-up here that tells how to do it, but I wasn't able to find it with a search. Here is a thread from another forum that gives a partial list of the possible solutions.
http://www.trifive.com/forums/showthread.php?p=328532 There is also an aftermarket bellhousing that lets you keep the stock LS flywheel. This would probably be the cheapest solution if your engine comes with a flywheel and clutch. Unfortunately, I can't remember who sells it. Ray Last edited by raycow; 09-18-2010 at 02:44 PM. |

Re: another ls question
Here is the cheapest solution, I'm putting an older 4-speed behind a 5.3L using these parts. What transmission are you using? NV3500?
