Question How to tell what year truck from 63-66?

Guys, I am new to this forum and am looking at finding a 60-66 truck to redo. My Grandpa had a 60 model. Anyway, how do I tell the 63-66 models apart? Seems the front end is the same on all of them!

A quick way is the windshield. The 63 will wrap around the corners, the 66 will not.

Re: How to tell what year truck from 63-66?

60-63 have the dog leg door/wrap around w/s, 64-66 the only way to tell other than the VIN is where the model emblem is and what it is , the 64 has the emblem on the fender, the 65 has it on the cowl panel above the rear of fender and the 66 has them on the fender as well. they all are different, do you have a picture?

Also the hoods are different too. If you can see my truck, that hood is from a 62-66 they are all the same. Now the 60-61 have large cat eyes or something like that on either side where the turn signal lights are on mine, does that make sense?

Re: How to tell what year truck from 63-66?

Here’s a link that describes the variations. The cosmetic differences are found under the paragraph titled Body Parts. If you're shopping for one of these trucks the entire thread provides valuable input:

And as indicated in the Suspension section the 60-62’s had torsion bar front ends. These were a great design, but parts are more expensive and if you want to do upgrades, the 63-66 chassis enjoys a great deal more aftermarket support.
