1950 burb help
I recently purchased a 50 burb and it is all stock, & it has no master cylinder or arm, what does one look like ( installed) so I can look for one, and I noticed a pull cable that goes from cab to transmission (small) arm, is it a kick down or overdrive of some sort? Please help because I want to get this thing on the road quick. Forgot to mention it is a 4 on the floor w/216 eng. & closed driveline.
Thank You,

Re: 1950 burb help
Check out the replacement parts catalogs for pix of the M/C. It is pretty simple. As for the pull cable, doubt it is an OD. I don't think those came out until the open drives in the '55 cars.
They had T for Throttle, C for Choke but those went to the carb/manifold area. If you had PTO they would usually have a big knob for that. Wouldn't know why you'd have that on a 'Burb, though. |

Re: 1950 burb help
I have checked them and found no complete assembly drawings. They only have the M. cylinder but no other linkage. I need a M. Cylinder and the linkage to the pedal assembly pivot point, I am gonna check Pomona antique swap meet next weekend. I am sure someone will have a complete assembly out there for sale that they pulled off to put a new power brake system. ( I hope )

Re: 1950 burb help
Check to make sure the pivot rod isn't part of the M/C. I thought it was but don't do much with stockers!
Have you tried to On Line Old Car Manual Project? http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...esto/index.htm or http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...ruck/index.htm Last edited by Dan Bowles; 10-09-2010 at 01:51 PM. |
