Brake Drums

Something new to me, while swapping out front hubs and backing off brake shoes...no backing plate slot to do that...a slot is in the brake drum and adjusted from the front. I guessing new drums won't have that slot so what are you guys doing? I guess a slot could be made into the backing plate or maybe install 'self-adjusters'.

Re: Brake Drums

Yup new ones won't have slots. You'll need to cut some in the backing plate.
