Install Time
I was just wondering how long would it take to install a complete MII kit triangulated 4 link with Notch and engine and trans mounts.

'm going on three months but I only get about 15 hours a week since the place it's at is only open two days a week.

On the rear suspension mark centerline of rear axle.Then remove all stock suspenion and box in rear frame section for strength and weld up 100% and metal finish out.On your rearend you supply we would remove all factory brackets on rearend and clean off 100% then install new 4-bar brackets and tig weld on.Install your shock crossmember and install all rear suspension onto rear part of your frame.Install your c knotch or step knotch. I had more time in removing the old crap than fitting and installing the new. If you're taking it to a shop and want to save some labor do the dirty work yourself for sure. Once the frame is clean it's gravy.

I'm having a shop do the install. I just wanted to know how long it should take. The engine and trans is out of the truck. In those two says how many hours total and how many guys?

I would never ever ever ever set a new crossmember in with out the front sheet metal on the truck.
I'd remove all the stock suspension, clean the frame, align both front fenders and hood, mark the CL with some plumb bobs(make sure truck is level is all directions!), then remove the sheetmetal, make sure the CL marks are perfectly square, and put the crossmember in. and if your bagging it to lay it out put it about .25-.5 inch in front of the CL marked so the wheels are closer to center laid out. or maybe Im OCD? |
