opinions needed
I am building a 1980 chevy shortbox fleetside pickup. I have all new boxsides for it that I am going to farm out to someone to assemble and finish off. My problem is do I bring it back to stock tail lights and bumper, stock tail lights and rollpan or fill in the tail lights and use my rollpan with the corvette tail lights. I intend to fill in the side marker lights , stake pockets, drip rails but leave the door handles ( at least for now). My front bumper is going to be painted the color of the truck ( will change to a chrome one if I go to a rear bumper) I intended to do all the bodywork myself but had to sell my welder when I had a pacemaker put in
Need some opinions boys. Rick

Re: opinions needed
I'm not much of a fan of rollpans on these trucks. I'm a bit of a purist, though. I'd go with chrome bumpers and regular old taillights.

Re: opinions needed
I think these trucks look very sleek & cool when stripped of the more chunky items so my answer is update it if you like that look.

Re: opinions needed
This may be a little extreme for y'all but someone on this sight (met him at a car show) should win a prize for most original tail lights... He had those tall thin tail lights off of a Cadillac on the back side of the wheel wells. Along with his 'handle on the inside' tailgate it gave it a super clean very original style.

Re: opinions needed
I love the back end of these trucks. My vote would be just put a sport bumper on it and leave the rest factory.

Re: opinions needed
I personally think the corvette lamps in the roll pan and the cadillac lights in the bedside has been overdone, but that is from the 80's and 90's. I prefer the original look with a good sport bumper on the back, it just flows nicely to me. I'm not even a fan of relocating the tailgate handle really.

Re: opinions needed
BTW
Im definitly an 'original' guy except for maybe a 3 inch raise here and there and some preformance n chrome under the hood. I would never put those cadillac lights on my truck, just sayn that he did a good job and it just worked for his lowrider. |

Re: opinions needed
depends on the style you are going for, if it were mine i would flip the handle to the inside and put the LED cadi lights in but, i would put them in upside down...they look better upside down for some reason.

Re: opinions needed
I don't mind this look but it would be a very expensive and labor extensive modification. I think I might go with smoked rear tails and a sport bumper or rollpan. Leaning more towards the bumper. Now do i go chrome or body color???????????? Chrome means I have to buy a new front bumper too.
