Which clutch to choose

I'm going to be replacing my clutch this wk. and have a few questions? I have a 1978 chevy c-10 big ten swb with a 350 four barrel 4sp. When I type this info in at summit I get different options, 10", 10.5",11",diaphragm,lever type, ect. How do I know what to choose? Do I have to pull it apart, see what I got, then order the clutch? Also any tips in doing the job will be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Which clutch to choose

As you see you're living in a clutchless society. LOL!!!
Info needed!!!
Is your truck all stock? What do you use it for? A daily driver or offroading!!
Different clutch styles for different uses.
Diaphragm for easy smooth use on the street or a 3 finger borg and beck style for heavy duty use.
The reason for the different sizes is some flywheels are drilled for both pressure plate bolt patterns. 11" and 10.5". The 10" is used with the 10.5" pattern.

Do you have your owners manual. Should say itn there what size you have.
Plug your info in on Napa.com and see what comes up.

My personnal oppinion is if your using it as a daily driver and your motor is not pushing more then 500 hp, you should order a stock clutch kit from napa, its affordable and it comes with everything you need, paid mine 100$ if not mistaken and ive had no problems with it so far. Performance clutchs are harder to engage and arnt really needed if your not at the drag strip or pushing more the 500hp ,, again this is my oppinion. my trucks got a little under 400hp and the new stock clutch has been doing just fine for me, nothing stops me from pounding the pavement every now and again
and i get the smooth shifts when iam bobing in trafic around town!
