Re: Flames
I seem to remember a recall about some full size fords catching fire. I may be mistaken.
Either way, sorry for your loss man.

Re: Flames
Electrical fire, the hood and grill melted, the heads on the block melted. Officer in the pic shot a small burst with his extinguisher, and it died on him.

Re: Flames
The recall was for a brake pressure switch. I have a friend who had a crappy one, similar result. Sorry to see you're truck go down like that.

Re: Flames
Well, that sucks. Doesn't look like any damage was done to your house and garage, so that's good.

Re: Flames
Glad everyone is OK!
A guy on my route (I'm a UPS driver) had a similar issue with his Ford a couple years ago. Some sort of recall involved.

Re: Flames
Sorry to see that happen to you. Hope the insurance is in place to cover it. Was it just sitting there and caught fire or was there some work being done to it?
Not a good way to end the year regardless. If you really wanted a warmer climate you can always move back to Houston. Hope it all gets worked out with minimal PITA. |

Re: Flames
Man that is not good. I got curious, here is some interesting reading.
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news0...ord_fires.html http://www.consumeraffairs.com/autom...ord_fires.html http://www.ennislaw.com/ford_recall.html There are plenty more on google... Hope your insurance agent is fair and you don't need to go after Ford.
