Hello from BC, Canada

Hi all, was surfing around and found this fantastic site. I recently purchase a 1965 Chev Surburban. 283, 4 speed, 2 wheel drive. Plan on doing a re-make on it. I have ordered the sheet metal required and lined up a bodyman. Looking to upgrade front end etc. 283 runs awesome but am looking at maybe changing. Was looking at a 6.5 diesel conversion to be different but heard from someone who tried and the exhaust interferes with the frame. This person suggested a 5.9 cummins swap. I call my unit the Rotti-rod as I bought it to haul my dogs around.

Happy New Year and the best to you all

Pat.

Nice truck ! Don't do the 6.5, it's not a great power plant for the amount of work it would take to put it in...Cummins is definately the way to go but would be far too heavy for your burb without some major mods. IMO keep the small block...
