Time for a weight guessing game!

Lets see who can get closest to the weight of what this thing brings. Loaded down 'burban. Full of sheet metal and other stuff. Scrap is $200 a ton right now (pretty good!). I'll give one hint since you can't really see it in the photo, it has a second 350 block (complete minus TBI, compressor, alt, ps etc) inside of it.

The doors and gas tank are on Joe231's truck, the front end is on my truck, the TBI and harness are tucked away, the serpentine was sold, it only had a bench seat in it what I got it (bad), no other interior really, dash was junk, saved the instrument cluster and the dash wiring/ECM, column and steering wheel was junk, back doors are rusted, quarters both have rust, you can't give the quarter glass away around here, we saved the rally wheels and junk tires.
I don't feel bad about scraping any of what was left. Whatever was left on it that was usable, I have two more of here at least.

Re: Time for a weight guessing game!

Wow, lots of way over guesses. It might be crammed full of old fenders and stuff, but all that stuff is off of newer cars, very thin stuff.

Re: Time for a weight guessing game!

It's a shame you're scrapping a set of rally wheels. That's 100 bucks here at a swap meet.

The sway bar is worth keeping as well as the power steering box too.

And the door rubbers look pretty decent...

Master cylinder and booster would bring 30 at a swap meet.

Suburbans often had 3.42 rearend or 3.73 rearend. That's another 100 bucks at the swap.

I'm a cheap bass turd so I pluck them clean before hitting the crusher.

Re: Time for a weight guessing game!

I kept the rallies, took them off when the forklift at the yard took it off the trailer. It did have a 3.73 rear end, but I got another one just like it, sadly I do not know of any swap meets or the like around me. Plus it's not something I'd enjoy lugging around.

She weighed in at 4700lbs, got $450 out of it.
