Rear bags in but hanging up when aired out

So this weekend, I was able to put in the bolt in c-notch, 2" lowering blocks and my 2600 dom's in the rear (no air supply just yet, so it's sitting at full dump). When I put it down, the nose of the pumpkin (in-between the u joints and the axel tubes) hits the shock x-mbr before the axel goes all the way up into the c-notch. If this wouldn't happen, I could probably go down another inch or so.

I've read A LOT posts about this type of install, and I don't recall this ever being an issue. My question is, is it ok to just cut a section out of the xmbr where the nose is hitting it?

I know, the pictures are horrible, but I finished this up late last night so it's all I got...

my rear diff hits the bed floor. do you have pictures from underneath?

I wish I did but I didn't think of it while it was up in the air...but I'm hoping to get back on it tonight and I'll get a pic of where it's hitting for some opinions. I hope my phone takes better pics than the last ones since that's all I have for digital pics right now.

I looked at mine last night and that piece is not modified. what does your pinion angle look like? does it look like this ^ ?

Worked on the blazer this weekend a little more...man it's been slow moving...I took a closer look at this issue, and the top of the pumpkin is also hitting the floor board, so if I do anything about it, I'll have to cut that as well.

Anyways, I didn't take any pictures of my own, but I found this one by tcb-1 and it looks like he had the same exact issue. If I do this releif cut, I'll gain about 1/2" more drop on each side...actually more on the passenger since it sits a little crooked right now, I'm guessing since the pumpkin is offset and there's more weight on the driver side making it lower.

PS, my pinion angle was only about 2 degrees off of the tranny's.

the diff hits the floorboards on my blazer too. Yours must sit a little higher because of the overall tire height. Do you plan on raising any part of the floor?

Nah...I know it's ghetto, but if I end up cutting the xmbr, I'll just cut a hole in the floor for the pumpkin too. It's right under the seat and covered by carpet so no one will ever see it. I was thinking about loosely covering the hole with some dynomat just so fumes, water, whatever doesn't come up through the hole.

Before I do any of that I want to finish the front to see how it sits aired out on all 4 corners. I want to make sure the back doesn't sit lower than the front.

I have the front all prepped and ready to install the bags, but put the springs back in so I can pull it in and out of the garage as needed. I didn't even set it on the ground with the fronts on...just ran out of time. I didn't leave the bags in because I'm still gathering parts to finish up the york edc and I need to be able to get the jack under it...it's a PITA right now with the rear aired out and no way to lift it.
