Quick Axle question
gotta question about axles... I've got a 10 bolt now, not original becuase I swaped it about a year ago... It had a better gear ratio of 3.42. I bought the axle housing only because the bone yard charges for the axle too. Got home, removed the cover and started to slide the original axles in and they didnt fit right, the spider gears were different size. Kinda like the hole was to big. Does that mean it was a 30 spline truck diff? I installed the original spider gears into that carrier and have been golden ever since. I ask so I dont have to remove the diff cover and brakes to count the splines. I am going to order a set of axles hopefully tomarrow if I dont have to pull the cover and brakes off. That away I can install the C5 corvette brakes. Thanks
clint So do I have 28 spline axles?
