Transmission problem

my 77 chevy 350 4 barrel motor with 350 trans is having a problem seems to be a delay in reverse only it seems like reverse only works when i give it a certain amount of gas while in reverse then jerks when it finally kicks in cause it takes a few seconds to kick into gear what could be wrong? the transmission was replaced or rebuilt in 2008

The exact same thing happened to me before I put a TH400 in. The reverse clutches went bad. It'll only get worse as time goes on, too. You're either looking at another rebuild or a different tranny, if you can't rebuild them yourself. I know I can't.

Re: Transmission problem

I agree with 41Plague the trans is going to go out. I would just start saving for a new trans or rebuild. It happens to us all.
