Thanks...
I'm thinking of finding or building a 1 ton box truck for my band!

I don't know how hard that will be. Most of the box trucks I have seen are on a van (P series) chassis. If you could find an old Ambulance, that would work, too.

Re: Are square body duallys ONE TON??

i've been thinking about doing the same thing except instead of a box i'd like to go flatbed/stake body.

Could taking the box off of a 1-ton pickup be feasible? Aside from the rear track being wider---pickup would be wider vs. chassis cab's track would be narrower, are there any other differences? Are the frames generally the same shape behind the cab?

2) As far as finding one these might be a good sources:

3) P.S. another alternative might be to consider those isuzu cabover box trucks.

I assume you're talking about a truck like this one, just with an older cab. http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsde...?OHID=1927760&

They're out there, if you look long enough I'm sure you can run across one.

One thing someone hasn't mentioned is the difference between the cab and chassis and the regular one ton duly fleet side. The regular one ton's are wider.

See post #5..

I think something like this would make a good "box" truck..even has rear A/C and a place to sleep. But that is probably just me. It is a M1010 by the way.

Re: Are square body duallys ONE TON??

Square body C&C can actually be 2 tons or more depending on the body. My 86 K30 C&C has a 11,000 gvw. The 1 ton dually pickups were only 10,000 gvw.
